SaskPower Drive Electric Earth Day – Presented by Wheaton Kia

SEVA has been busy so far this spring! On April 23rd we hosted the SaskPower Drive Electric Earth Day – Presented by Wheaton Kia – at the Conexus Arts Centre in Regina. At this event we had several EV’s on display, including the Kia EV6 from Wheaton Kia! Several local owners brought their EV’s into the building to display and discuss their experience with driving electric in Saskatchewan. SaskPower also had a booth with information about their upcoming EV related programs and Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Program. Throughout the day, we offered some electric vehicle education sessions and EV test rides for folks interested in checking out the best part of an EV – the driving experience!

A huge thanks to our vendors and sponsors who spent their day with us. SaskPower, Wheaton Kia, VPS-Unleashed Auto care, Hyundai of Regina, Green Shift Automotive, Suncountry Highways, Ok Tire and Auto. Also, a big thankyou goes out to our local EV owners who spent the day with us!

If you happened to miss this event, fear not! We are already planning our next big public event. National Drive Electric Week – Regina – is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, September 24th! Stay tuned for further details!

National Drive Electric Week 2021

National Drive Electric Week, September 25th to October 2nd, 2021, is an international celebration to heighten awareness of today’s widespread availability of plug-in vehicles and highlight the benefits of all-electric and plug-in hybrid-electric cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more. They are fun to drive, are less expensive and more convenient to fuel than gasoline vehicles, are better for the environment, promote local jobs, and reduce our dependence on foreign oil. Thanks to all the hard work of SEVA volunteers/EV owners, we added some new members to the Saskatchewan EV community. Check out the pictures from the event below.

Earth Day EV Rally 2020

Despite not being able to socially interact due to the COVID-19 pandemic, SEVA decided to hold a spring event in support of healthcare workers and the Regina Food Bank. On April 25th, 2020 the Earth Day Electric Vehicle Rally was a success all the while remaining socially distant. We drove past both Regina hospitals honking our horns, “ripped up” the Regina Bypass EV style and raised several hundred dollars for the food bank.

Drive Electric Earth Day 2019

The first ever Drive Electric Earth Day event was organized by SEVA was held at the Saskatchewan Science Centre on April 27th, 2019.  It was a great success thanks to all the EV owners who came out and spent their day answering questions and giving test rides to an enthusiastic crowd who showed up in big numbers.  We had a few hundred people come through to check out the all the EVs on display, asking questions as well as getting test rides with EV owners/Dealers.  Thanks to all the hard work of SEVA volunteers/EV owners, we added some new members to the Saskatchewan EV community.
